February 2005 Dear Parents/Guardians, Congratulations to each and every parent, guardian, family and staff along with our shining stars of St. Gerard Majella School as we proudly celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Thank you for your support and for entrusting us with your most precious gift, your child/ren. We are so blessed to have such a dedicated faculty and staff at our school, which is truly a family school. We all are connected to one another with Jesus as the center of our lives and school. We believe we have a lot of offer our students and provide many innovative programs to help them keep safe, make the correct choices and stay close to Jesus. Faith In Every Student is the theme for Catholic Schools Week this year. As you can see from our Catholic School Week schedule we have many activities planned. We encourage you to come and join us for our family evenings of celebration and fun. Meet the new members of our school family and those of our community who would like to welcome you and get to know your better. Jesus comes to us in one another. Now that Lent is approaching, beginning Wednesday, February 9th, let us make a joint effort to celebrate and live the Eucharist by reaching out to others and treating one another with love and respect. This is our daily reminder to all our shining stars as we aspire and work hard to meet the challenge of Star School, which we believe we will achieve. All your sacrifices are well worth it. We appreciate all you do to send your child/ren to St. Gerard Majella. Remember our faith and our attendance at Mass and the sacraments are most important. If we believe and have faith in Jesus, He is there to help us during our difficult days as well as our happy days. Let us reach out this Lent to touch one another by trying to connect and come to know each other better by attending school and church functions. This allows us to be part of and involved in this family we call our home away from home. You are welcome to come and see what St. Gerard is celebrating during Catholic Schools Week. Please see the attached flyer with detailed information concerning our special afternoon with Mike Power and our special evening of prayer for Parents preparing their child for the sacraments. May God continue to bless you and your family. May He bless our school and all those who touch the lives of your child each day. May we together grow closer to Jesus this Lent and come to know Him in the Eucharist as we celebrate and reach out to one another with faith, hope and love.
