Dear Parents/Guardians,

The faculty and I salute each one of you! Thank you for making our opening of Catholic Schools' Week a great success! Your attendance at our family liturgy was so powerful and encouraging to us who attended along with our parish community. The shining stars of St. Gerard Majella School truly shined so brightly. The Eighth Grade made us so proud! They were there 100% and thank you to the parents for bringing them and allowing them to be the light of Christ, personally bringing the message of how much they love and value St. Gerard Majella School to all. There were volunteers from the group of Eighth Graders who spoke at each liturgy this weekend. We carry to eternity the hearts and souls of others that have been touched by our goodness.

As we celebrate this Catholic Schools' Week our theme is 'Together in Faith'. Jesus places His faith in us to carry out His mission with the brightness of the light that He has given you. Thank you for believing in us and entrusting us with your precious shining stars.

Please review the Catholic Schools' Week events. Come and join us for whatever you can! We love to see you take a real interest in what is happening in our school. A copy of the schedule for sports day is attached to the newsletter.

Tuesday will be Sports Day. It is a tag day; students may wear their favorite team jersey with sweats and sneakers. The schedule will be as follows:

Father Brando and I will be meeting with the parents for each grade level. We are anxious to see you so please make every effort to attend this meeting. We are in the process of creating an Educational Council. Congratulations to Janet Matta who has agreed to become president of this council. We look forward to having our parents involved in the education of their children.

The Marketing Team Committee of St. Gerard Majella School is also moving forward. We need you parents!! Thanks to all of you who have accepted the challenge of keeping St. Gerard Majella School alive because you believe it makes the difference in the lives of your children.

As always, thank you for the gift you are to us and to our church. You parents are your child's first teacher. Continue to lead them in their faith by your good example!

You are loved and we ask God to bless each of you with all that you need each day. May He grace you with good health, much peace and strength in the days ahead. We are here for you and whatever we can do, know that it will be done!
